St Lucia

Saint Lucia is a small, lush tropical island that is still relatively unknown. It is located midway down the Eastern Caribbean chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent. Mountainous and lush, this jewel of the Windwards is a place of green lush natural landscape where the twin peaks of The Pitons rise over 2,000 feet at the water's edge, where the rain forests shelter wild orchids, giant ferns and birds of paradise. You can visit Soufriére, the world's only drive-in volcano, or relax in the earth's rejuvenating heat in the pools at Diamond Baths. And spend an evening in Marigot Bay, one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. Just when you tire of palm-fringed beaches, secluded anchorages and dive sites in every direction, there's the incredible Friday night "jump-up" at Gros Islet on Rodney Bay.

Marina - Rodney Bay is composed by a Marina, and beatiful anchorages in front of tropical beaches. One of the Spot chosen by Sandals for one of its beautiful resorts. The marina with restaurants and bars, grocery stores, and villas is a very nice starting point for an amazing journey around the island. Diving - St. Lucia's warm clear waters and numerous spectacular reefs and marine life offer a perfect environment for both diving and snorkelling. Airport - Vieux Fort International Airport, daily fligths from London, weekly from USA direct via Miami or from Dusseldorf. Local Language - English. Currency - Carribean Dollars or Issy Dollars but US Dollars and € Euro are used. Major credit cards may be accepted in hotels, restaurants and some shops. Strong points - In addition to the wide variety of opportunities to hike, and tour St. Lucia's outstanding natural attractions, the island is replete with a full range of relaxing and sporting options along with large and exotic tropical beaches.
